Now that the reveal is up at [info]hd_holidays, I'm posting my entry. I really enjoyed doing this one, though it didn't really take very long. My giftee, [info]oootheitooo was very appreciative and seemed to really like it, which quite made my day!

Oh wow. This is gorgeous! I don't know where to look at first! Harry's face is wonderfully drawn - what a great expression, I love it! And Draco's face behind the glass is awesome. Is it a ghost? Harry's memory? Am I totally off? In any case, I love the nostalgic feeling I get from this. And I must stress that Harry's face is absolutely fantastic.

So glad you posted this here, or I'd have missed it! (I wasn't watching that fest.)

Thank you so much! And shame on you! I told you to watch out for me at that fest. (I know you've been limiting your computer time, tho)

But that's ok, you're here now. And no, Draco isn't a ghost, actually. In fact he isn't really there. So, he's a memory, or a fantasy or a daydream or something like that. Completely within Harry's mind, only. That's why I made it so big in the glass.....so it wouldn't be mistaken for an actual reflection. And it's white and scratchy-looking because I was going for the effect that it might look a little like the frost on the window. I didn't quite succeed at that, though.

I'm glad you said nostalgic because that was really the feeling I was after. I'm glad you liked Harry's expression....I was afraid it would come across as a lack of expression.

Wow, so pretty! I love how Harry and contemplating on Draco. I do wonder if Draco is dead in this...hmmm.

Thanks for posting it here! I haven't been keeping up with this fest at all, but there are a few fics that have been recced too many times for me NOT to read them. ;)

Thanks, dear. Draco might be on vacation. He might be dead. He might be broken up with Harry. He might never have had a relationship with Harry. He might just be in the shower, or at his parents' for dinner. Maybe he's at work, maybe he's in Azkaban. You choose. The point is, he's not there right then, and Harry is thinking about him.

He could be thinking how angry he is at Draco, how much he misses Draco, what a total jerk Draco is, how much he'd like to kiss him, how much he'd like to punch him, whether or not they'll ever be friends, if he'd like roast chicken for dinner, how he'll ever live without him, when he's going to come home, whether or not he can borrow his new shirt........

Oh, I love Harry's eyes. They really leap out at you which is really unusual behind glasses. I can see why Severus wanted to look at them. ;D I also like how adult Harry looks. He still obviously is a young man, but he's obviously a man, not a boy.

Draco is well done as well. Equally compelling and handsome.

Thank you so much. I'm hoping that you'll find my Harry is ALWAYS grown up looking. I don't like him looking too young. Comes from having a teenaged son, I guess.

I can see how having a teen-aged son would have an impact. Though with Harry I think that, in general, artists seem to give him the appearance of a younger person even when they are attempting to draw him as an adult. There's a certain lilt of the features that links back to boyhood in a way that makes him look like he's younger. I'm not an artist, so I'm explaining it badly. But your Harry's seem more like they could walk off the page and be at home in the real world. It looks like you are drawing a real person rather than a character. I love the work of a number of artists, but I can usually tell that their Harry's aren't real young men.

Saying that my Harry looks like a real person is probably the best thing anyone could tell me. I want him to look real, and my style is almost always photorealistic.

Thanks, again.

Oh my. I rarely buy older versions of Harry, but this is really quite nice. His expression in particular is most realistic. Also? I like your icon. Also, also? I think I might friend you. I hope that's okay with you! Then I can never miss your art. =)

Thank you for stopping by! You'll not see a young (minor) version of Harry from me. That's mostly because I'm not interested too much in him during the canon timeline. The fanfic that I prefer is a slightly older, more mature Harry after the war. So, naturally, that's also going to be the art I do. I don't mind if you friend me, of course, but I hope you won't be too disappointed, because I won't be posting much in the very near future. I'm currently working a lot and very busy with RL. It'll slow down, though, in about a month, I think.

Bonus points to you for being The Only Person Ever To Compliment My Icon!!

Seriously? I figured everyone loved your icon and my comment would be redundant. Oh well. Silly people. ;) I read almost everything, but I tend to like older versions of Harry as well. The reason I don't usually buy them in art has more to do with the skill of the involved artists than my appreciation for maturity. A reason you have conquered! And I would never, ever be (out loud) disappointed in anyone's journal for lack of updating. I'm trying to be better, but I've generally been a few-times-a-year poster. ;) And I'm always glad when my favorite online personas have Real Lives as well. ;)

It's odd that so many people spend so much time cleverly manipulating photos and art, text and graphics, animations, etc., and coming up with clever or funny ideas and creating tons and tons of icons. And a bunch of other people spend loads of time searching them out and downloading them and switching back and forth between different ones for every occasion. I cropped a photo that I liked that had a moon in it, stuck my name in, and voila! I have a personalized icon.

A year or so ago, I thought it would be a good idea to have an icon bearing my name (like I saw Montana Dan had), because no one knew me, and I thought it might eventually help with name recognition. Now, I just can't stop using it.

"The reason I don't usually buy them in art has more to do with the skill of the involved artists than my appreciation for maturity. A reason you have conquered!"

Wow. Thank you. That is a fabulous compliment!!

Heeheheee! I try!

Yeah, the icon craze is a bit entertaining, isn't it? I don't have the time to do all that. So I cropped a whole bunch of pics of pretty boys that convey (to me, anyway!) different reactions, and that's whatcha get. :)
